Morning Rush 35 (Statements That Will Start A Fight)

Music In My Head (Can't Fight This Feeling)

"CAN'T FIGHT THIS FEELING"
I cant fight this feeling any longer
And yet Im still afraid to let it flow
What started out as friendship, has grown stronger
I only wish I had the strength to let it show
I tell myself that I cant hold out forever
I said there is no reason for my fear
Cause I feel so secure when were together
You give my life direction
You make everything so clear
and even as I wander
Im keeping you in sight
Youre a candle in the window
On a cold, dark winters night
And Im getting closer than I ever thought I might
And I cant fight this feeling anymore
Ive forgotten what I started fighting for
Its time to bring this ship into the shore
And throw away the oars, forever
Cause I cant fight this feeling anymore
Ive forgotten what I started fighting for
And if I have to crawl upon the floor
Come crashing through your door
Baby, I cant fight this feeling anymore
My life has been such a whirlwind since I saw you
Ive been running round in circles in my mind
And it always seems that Im following you, girl
Cause you take me to the places that alone Id never find
And even as I wander Im keeping you in sight
Youre a candle in the window on a cold, dark winters night
And Im getting closer than I ever thought I might
And I cant fight this feeling anymore
Ive forgotten what I started fighting for
Its time to bring this ship into the shore
And throw away the oars, forever
Cause I cant fight this feeling anymore
Ive forgotten what I started fighting for
And if I have to crawl upon the floor
Come crushing through your door
Baby, I cant fight this feeling anymore.

Earth Hour 2009

(reposted from http://www.earthhour.org/)

This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming.
For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.
This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.
In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.
We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations.
VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour.
Just in case you’re into this, please join in! Last year, even some shopping centers joined in. Get to know which ones are linking up with Earth Hour and spend your Earth Hour there! But even if you just live alone, with no one to celebrate with, come link up with your global comrades in doing whatever we can (in this case by simply shutting off your lights), no matter how small the gesture, to show our support for our sole home planet, Earth.
THE DATE AND TIME TO REMEMBER: Saturday 28 March 2009, 8:30PM local time, wherever you live on planet earth.

Earth Hour 2010

Saturday March 27, 2010 - EARTH HOUR 2010 -
Turn your lights off from 8:30pm to 9:30pm !
Earth Hour is a global event created to symbolize that each one of us, working together, can make a positive impact on climate change - no matter who we are or where we live.
Join many around the world who are turning out their lights for one hour on March 27.
For more info visit http://www.worldwildlife.org/sites/earthhour/item6223.html

Filipinos from 1,041 cities and towns will join the world in spending Earth Hour and environmental group World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines listed 10 ways to do as Filipinos turn off the lights from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

“The switchoff signifies the start of a very personal and lasting lifestyle change to minimize our ecological impacts and to do our bit for a more sustainable planet. Personal pledges can take many forms, from upgrading to energy-efficient appliances to planting and stewarding a small grove of native trees,” said Naderev Saño, head of climate change and energy program of WWF-Philippines and national director of Earth Hour Philippines.

Below are 10 ways to help make a difference during and after Earth Hour 2010:

1. Document Earth Hour celebrations in photos and videos and win gadgets such as DVD players and cell phones in the Earth Hour contest. For details, visit http://wwf.org.ph/earthhour/2010/03/a-contest-earth-hour-photovideo-documentation

2. Host an outdoor evening party with friends and family. Fire up the flashlights or candles, dine on organic food and talk about ways to reduce energy use.

3. Encourage kids to unplug their electronic gadgets to play and explore the outdoors. Play traditional Filipino games like “patintero” or spend the afternoon birdwatching.

4. Do a recyclables’ hunt. Get your flashlights and find cans, bottles and boxes that can be reused to reduce items that end up in landfills. A fun tip: reuse plastic grocery bags.

5. Green that workspace! Aside from turning off the office lights, make sure to unplug computer screens and speakers instead of leaving them on overnight. Shutting the screen and speakers down when unused can lower power consumption and electricity bills drastically.

6. Involve local leaders to set up a community "green" discussion in a public building from on March 27. Help organize attendance and ask your leaders of their plans to make your area greener.

7. Clean up your street. Grab a flashlight and walk down your house street, picking up trash and recyclables as you go. It's a great chance to do some stargazing too!

8. Unplug electrics and just chill out. Turn off the screens, shut your cell phones and just have an hour of steady time with your family.

9. Give yourself an energy makeover. Use Earth Hour as a reason to make your home more energy efficient: Replace old incandescent bulbs with energy-saver, more efficient CFL bulbs. Install power strips to turn computers and electronics on and off more easily, since appliances on standby mode consume up to 30 percent of energy.

10. Make a pledge for the planet and take a first step toward lowering your overall impact on the environment after Earth Hour. Recycle, take public transportation, unplug electronics when not in use, and spread the need to reduce our carbon footprint.

“Earth Hour shouldn't end at 9:31p.m. when we turn the lights on again. It's a step towards making a personal pledge to be more environment-friendly. You’ll hit two birds with one stone by saving on both cash and carbon emissions,” said Saño.

Mirrors

Mirrors
There is Evil on the other side!

Last tuesday, nagyaya si NIña na magpunta ng Maunlad Mall sa Malolos City, Bulacan trip lang namin maghanap ng DVD para may mapanood kaming dalawa sa araw na iyon. Napagtripan namin ang horror movie... we dared to watch ' MIRRORS' starring Keifer Sutherland, and bida sa series na 24. We loved Keifer a.k.a. Jack Bauer dahil paborito naming panoorin ang 24.
Later that afternoon, we started to watch the movie, Mirrors, they are able to kill people who have just looked themselves in any kind of mirror. Mirrors can be evils. It happened in flash back when a guy, named Gary Lewis, whose so obsessed cleaning the mirrors of the house he was patrolling, looked himself in the mysterious large mirror in the house and his image was left on the mirror... yung itsura nya sa mirror and real world are different. The mirrors create a virtual world once you see yourself on it... naiiwan yung image mo tapos once you move, your image on that mirror doesn't move, instead, it is staring on you, doing evil things like scratching your neck. But it's just on the mirror where you see that your neck was scratched by your 'complementary self'.. the bad thing is, you could really die by just lookin' at it.

The movie is creepy and scary imagine 1st scene pa lang nag-laslas na ng leeg yung isang character. Ben (Keifer), he used to be a policeman, kaso natanggal siya for shooting and killing someone. Trying to fix his life back together nag-apply siya bilang night guard sa isang abandoned Mall, the MayFlower Mall, dating mall na sinunog noong 1952.
1st night pa lang ni Ben na mag-guard marami nang nakakatakot na scene, one scene that was creepy was nung lumapit sia dun sa mirror and merong handprint! and kahit anong pilit niang burahin ayaw!!!! imagine na lang kung meron ganon sa mirror nio!!!!
At the middle of the movie, 'takot na takot na kami!!' especially nung may mga scenes na bigla-bigla na lang sumusulpot! I think it's a nice movie.
Kahit na medyo madugo at kadiri yun unang part. Marami ring pinakitang magagandang bagay such as those family values na pinakita sa family ni Kiefer Sutherland.
Suspense! talagang nakakagulat! Maganda yung story. Ayoko namang ikwento. Panoorin nyo na lang. Ang masasabi ko lang, kawawa yung bida, minalas siya at siya pa yung napunta sa ganung sitwasyon pero he's good. Nagawa niyang makasurvive at maisave ang buhay niya, as well as ng family nya although may mga nawala rin sa kanya.

Watch it!! You'll like it, lalo na kung mahilig ka sa mga suspense na mystery movies.

After watching the movie, when you woke up and look at the mirrors inside your room, try to think about this, possible kayang merong nakatingin sa iyo behind that mirrors?!

I can’t tell you too much about the movie because that would make it very boring for you when you watch it. Go, take a peep at the Movie and have fun watching it like it’s the last of your days. Haha.

Siyam & Bantay

Homeless, Not Worthless!
TV campaign by Purina and The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). The following are two TV pet commercials that are quite different from what we are used to seeing. You will see no fluffy and well-groomed cat or dog in these clips. All you'll see are a couple scenes that play out countless of times per day out there in the streets. It's a very familiar sight but not many see them. I'm hoping that after watching the clips on TV, viewers will start seeing and feeling more for our homeless street animals. There is heartache happening in the streets as you read this.
"SIYAM"

"BANTAY"

Simple but straight to the point. This is a typical scene here in the philippines. Some people are so used to it they dont care.
Please help us spread the word about this campaign and blog about these videos!

What you can do to help the homeless cats and dogs in the streets:
1. Adopt a rescue dog or cat. Experienced animal guardians could also choose to just pick a cat or dog from the street or the pound to rehabilitate. Give the shelter animals a visit!

2. Spay and neuter your pets. Adopting is actually not THE solution. The long term solution to the stray and homeless animals' increasing population is by stopping the ability of the cats and dogs in your community to multiply. Start with your house pets then urge community leaders to do the same for the stray cats and dogs. Contact animal welfare NGOs like PAWS if you want to learn more about this. These organizations usually offer low-cost spay-neuter services to help out with such efforts.

3. Stop buying from pet shops that sell cats and dogs. Adopt a rehabilitated rescue cat or dog instead. Read: 10 good reasons for adopting adult rescue dogs.

4. Teach your family and friends the value of respecting and caring for the animals. Treat your pets like they're family. Stop the vicious cycle by being responsible pet owners or guardians.

5. Volunteer! Join animal welfare organizations that give voice to the animals. Animal welfare organizations are powered by volunteers. And they need more! Read: Things to do as a PAWS volunteer

6. Donate. Animal welfare groups are not funded by the government and they raise the money they need to do their function through donations and through fund-raising activities. You can help animals by helping animal welfare organizations!

ABS-CBN Summer Station ID 2009 (Galaw Galaw Sa Tag-Araw)

(Reposted from Sun.Star)
Team Kapamilya Tayo Banner
SUMMER always sizzles with energy. This season, ABS-CBN's Station ID shows how such vigor can be used to help make the country a better place.
In the colorful music video, entertainment stars and news personalities will be seen building homes for the poor, cleaning a river and the sea, sweeping streets, feeding children, among many other community activities.
Panagbenga 2009 blog
They will also be dancing to a lively song performed by the "Kanto Boys" Billy Crawford, John Lloyd Cruz, Luis Manzano, and Vhong Navarro.
The song, written by Robert Labayen and Peewee Gonzales, is about "spreading love and care everyday and everywhere." The music was composed by Star Records' Christian Martinez.
ABS-CBN chose the socially relevant theme recognizing the hard times brought about by the global recession.
The creators of the summer station ID believe that the scarcity of material wealth can be overcome by an abundance of generosity and concern for one another. That is also why the company's TV channel is using the battle cry "Kayang-Kaya Natin, Kapamilya" for the whole year.
Guided by the unchanging motto "In the Service of the Filipino Worldwide," ABS-CBN has always been engaged in a lot of public service programs.
Last year, ABS-CBN launched Bayanijuan as the banner tying together all of the company's work in protecting the rights and welfare of children, saving the environment, providing educational tools, rebuilding disaster-hit communities, and empowering the poor through sustainable livelihood programs.
The media company also recently launched Kapit-Bisig sa Ilog Pasig. All of these projects are done with the help of donors, partners, and volunteers from both the government and private sectors.
The summer station ID was created by ABS-CBN's Creative Communications Management Team.
The project was led by Johnny de los Santos, Danie Sedilla-Cruz, Edsel Misenas, Kathrina Sanchez, and Dang Baldonado. It is directed by Paolo Ramos and Peewee Gonzales.
Other members are Jimmy Porca, project coordinator; Wowie Hao, cinematographer; Sam Esquillon, production designer; Rap Dela Rea, editor; Maribeth Bichara, choreographer; Rosalie David, caster; and Marvin Bragas, location manager.
Watch out for ABS-CBN's summer station ID and see how moving in unison this summer can be fun and fruitful. (Press release)

Interpreted by American Idol Season 8's Danny Gokey!

"JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL"
She was driving last Friday on her way to CincinnatiOn a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy with the baby in the backseat
Fifty miles to go and she was running low on faith and gasoline
It'd been a long hard year
She had a lot on her mind and she didn't pay attention
she was going way too fast
Before she knew it she was spinning on a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn't even have time to cry
She was sooo scared
She threw her hands up in the air

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel

It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat sleeping like a rock
And for the first time in a long time
She bowed her head to pray
She said I'm sorry for the way
I've been living my life
I know I've got to change

So from now on tonight
Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on

Ooh, Jesus take the wheel
Ooh, I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
From this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel
Ooh, take it, take it from me
Ooh ooh wah ah ooh ooh ooh
So guys...what do you think? Do you like it or love it too...

American Idol 8 (My Picks)

Just like last year, I was sooo excited of the promise that this season will be the best EVER. And just like last year, I’m kinda underwhelmed with what I’ve seen so far. With the exception of a handful, most were disappointingly forgettable. But hopefully it won’t be as numbingly bland as last season, which for me was the Idol all time low.

After watching American Idol for a couple of weeks now... I decided to make my top picks from 2 to 4. So my battling average is now 50-50. Here are my picks:

For the boys, these are my top 2:
For the girls, these are my top 2:

And who’s my overall pick?

I think Danny Gokey will make it to the final round because he has a powerful voice, right?... but I want to stick to my first choice. I could be wrong, but to me this lady is a star - and what a unique voice!!!
Who are your top 4?and who do you think the next Americal Idol?

Zapped

ZAPPED
For 1980’s teen boner movies this may be one of the most watchable!
Yes, i was bored here alone at home due to my surgical recovery. Thanks to world wide web for keeping me company here at home. When my eyes and head are getting tired staring at the monitor for a lot of hours, i decided to relax it for a couple of hours. What I did? I watched a DVD, I was string at my dvd collection rack to choose which movi to watch, I was there staring for a couple of minutes and finally I picked "Zapped" coz I was in the mood for 80's movies. And i still enjoy the movie, lots of boobs exposed, teen sex & romantic scenes (Hmm pervert!). Love the soundtracks also.
YEAR OF RELEASE : 1982
CLASSIFICATION : M
DIRECTOR : Robert J. Rosenthal
STARRING : Scott Baio, Willie Aames, Heather Thomas, Scatman Crothers, Robert Mandan
TAGLINES:
* They're Getting A Little Behind In Their Classwork
* The comedy that won't let you down!
REVIEW:
Half teen sex romp and half 70s live action Disney film, Zapped! was a staple of 80s cable television, and even spawned a sequel eight years later. Pairing marketable television stars with fantasy wish fulfillment and T&A proved to be box-office boffo, though the lowbrow comedy betrays what is generally an amusing feature with a surprising amount of heart at its smutty core. It's main flaw is a series of subplots which serve to pad the run-time, but just take focus away from the main characters. While the romantic exploits of the school principal, or the reaction of Barney's parents to his odd behavior (think Carrie/The Exorcist), feature a few amusing moments, they serve no real purpose. Even odder are two fantasy sequences, one featuring the U.S.S. Enterprise getting eaten by a dog (don't ask), and the other a pot fueled dream about Albert Einstein and salami (really don't ask) that definitely feel out of place.
As a whole, the cast do an acceptable job. Willie Aames was nominated for a Razzie award for his performance here, but he doesn't really stand out as particularly bad (Check out Bibleman if you really want to see Aames at his worst). He basically reprised the role along Scott Baio in the sitcom Charles in Charge a few years later. Felice Schachter (Nancy on The Facts Of Life) as the geeky school president fairs a lot better and brings a sincere sweetness to the role. Heather Thomas (The Fall Guy) is appropriately busty and bitchy as the head cheerleader and object of Peyton's "affection", and it's always nice to see the late Scatman Crothers get some screen time as Dexter Jones, the boy's baseball coach. But this is the Scott Baio show, and the one time teen idol usually manages to hit the right note between sensitive and dorky. Barney shares a lot in common with the Kurt Russell roles from late 60s/early 70s Disney flicks with his gee-whiz reactions to his new powers. My favorite thing about his performance, however, is the far off glassy look he gets whenever he uses his ZAPPING ability. Very goofy, but despite looking like a dozy mental patient during these scenes Baio is perfectly capable in the role.

The special effects in the film are certainly not-so-special, usually accomplished by having not-quite-invisible wires float objects around the room. In one particularly egregious scene, Barney is mooned by two teens and proceeds to float them across a park (after pulling down their girlfriend's tops). The effect is so poor that the whole sequence becomes surreal and a tad disturbing. Barney's display of power at his baseball game shows some enjoyable echoes of a similar sequence in The Absent Minded Professor, but in general the fx have aged badly. What really works in the film is the romance between Barney and Bernadette, which manages to develop almost naturally despite all expectations to the contrary. The film doesn't hide from nudity or sex (though it has a junior-high attitude towards woman, and is almost tame compared to other sex comedies of the time), but director Robert J. Rosenthal shows surprising restraint in showing the progress of the relationship. It's a small thing in the grand scheme of the film, but the small amount of heart on display really rises parts of the film above the teen-schlock of the time. The MGM DVD of the film is a flipper featuring both the widescreen and fullscreen versions. Image quality is fine, though awfully bright, and suffers greatly during some of the special effects sequences. The soundtrack features some painfully 80s music (sometimes playing behind a montage. Depending on your preference this may be a plus or a minus. The release features no special features. Not even a trailer. No Scott Baio commentary? Bah!

Slightly above average teen sex comedy is actually sweeter than one might expect, though some excruciating subplots, sub-par special effects and dumb comedy keep it from reaching the rather modest heights of the genre. Best watched for a combination of nostalgia and boobies.

This “comedy/sci-fi” movie from 1982 stars Scott Baio (the dude from Charles in Charge) as a high school senior that accidentally gains telekinetic powers. What else would you expect after mixing some growth formula, beer, and some fluid extracted from cannabis? Sadly, Scott’s character (Barney) only exposes Heather Thomas’ (the hot chick in The Fall Guy!) chest twice during the movie (and once was a boob double). Don’t worry - he manages to use his powers to remove other bras and tops. This movie had very little to do with telekinesis… This film should have been about the two mice in the scuba outfits. They could have used their telekinetic powers to remove Heather Thomas’ top and then we wouldn’t have had to deal with Bernadette (the class president). I was fascinated by the Mongoloid pitcher of the Tigers baseball team.
